Brownes Boot Camp

Brownes Thames Estuary Boat Trips are excited to announce that in April 2023 they will be launching Open water swimming & boot camps on the sea/mud. Great fun for everyone & offering a different kind of team building activity.

In partnership with Hadleigh Plungers & Brownes Boot Camp.

We are fully insured, qualified skippers & crews, risk assessed, safety procedures in place while at sea, licensed by the MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) & SCMS (The Society Of Consulting Marine Engineers & Ship Surveyors) to operate this kind of business & will have a qualified lifeguard and experienced fitness trainer onboard at all times. WHILST RESPECTING THE LOCAL NATURE & WILDLIFE OUT AT SEA.

This is going to be epic & offers a very unique & different experience to anything currently in Leigh On Sea/Chalkwell. It is not to be missed! To participate & do this advanced activity you will have to undertake land boot camp & lake swimming training beforehand to build up your confidence, strength and trust.

Typical 2-3 hour Day:  We leave Leigh On Sea at High Water & head out to the Ray Gut to pick up our mooring & set up camp for the training session. We will then wait for the tide to go out while we have a training briefing from Angus Browne (Skipper of the boat) about the session & emergency procedures. We will then drop off all the kit onto the mud when the tide goes out and transport members on our very own inflatable rib/safety boat onto the mudflats to get ready for our Boot Camp session. After we have completed our mission training on the mud, we will then head to Two Tree Island where there is water all the time to unload the kit/equipment before heading home for a warm shower and telling your family & friends all about what fun we had out at sea!

The trips are dependent on the weather and tides on the day, so we will have to review this a couple of days prior to the selected date. (subject to cancellation of the trip with 24-48 hours notice due to weather/tides)

  • Weather & Tides change daily.
  •  50% of the final cost of your trip is required to secure your booking which is a NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. Then 1 week prior to the departure date is when the outstanding balance is due to be paid. (the non refundable deposit can be used towards another trip if cancellation has to be made due to bad weather or low tides).
